I have been using 42 cm Wheeleez for about 10 years. They have been outstanding, they are very low pressure (2-4) psi and have NO tread at all, which works much better on sand than those knobby things people sell. I bought one of their 36 inch axles, cut it into two 18 in segments and inserted it into the dolly after removing the original axle stubs. You have to drill them to bolt them in, but the axle is aluminum, it’s easy. They definitely float more than the stock wheels, but work vastly better on sand. 30 cm is too small ( tried it) and you don’t want to go to the larger size (49 cm?) due to the increase in flotation. I ordered the tires and axles from our local dealer in NC. I believe they were shipped to my house. I ended up removing the boat from the dolly in order to attach the larger axles. I did have to drill a hole through the old axel as the pre-drilled holes on the new axles (which slip over the old) did not align. Then slip the wheels on and install the retaining clips. The beach wheels have ball bearings so they roll much easier, however, because they are wider, the fit inside the frame of my Road King trailer is very tight. If I get the least amount off-center pulling the dolly onto the trailer, one tire will hit the back of the trailer frame. And the beach tires have enough floation to float the dolly and the Weta. It takes some work to push the Weta off the dolly when launching, but they're worth the reduced effort even on the grass or concrete ramps that I launch my boat on. Super helpful the one time I launched it off a real beach with soft sand.
hi Stuart. I am the new owner of a Weta and am considering installing wide beach wheels to help with solo launching in sand. I have the Road King trailer. Wheeleez now makes beach wheels with a 1" axle kit (used to be 3/4" only) which are supposed to swap out with the 1" stainless axle on the RK trailer. The problem is that stainless + aluminum tubing is a corrosion nightmare and I wisely decided to see if I could remove the existing stainless axle before ordering. I could not. Now I'm reading your post on the Dynamic option and just wanted to confirm that the Dynamic axle extensions fit OVER the existing 1" OD stainless axle so it doesn't have to be removed. It seems if that the case, then the Dynamic beach wheels must use an axle larger than 1", but I can't find anything online that would confirm that. Thanks
